So Sunday I took a little me time away from school work and went to a movie with my sister and brother. I decided to rock my new Carlo’s Bakery t-shirt and beanie hat that I got from his An evening with the boss tour. I figure perfect movie outfit. very comfy.
There was a Johnny Depp movie out so of course we had to go see that. I completely love Johnny Depp. I go see every movie he comes out with. I cannot believe took me this long to go see it; the movie has been out a WEEK! I am currently working on my collection of his movies, I even own the 21 Jump street Series. I am missing about 10 of his movies so I am almost there.
About the Movie But any way today is about his new movie The Rum Diary. I will try and not reveal to much for those who haven’t seen it. This movie is based on the novel of the same name by legendary author Hunter S. Thompson. It starts Johnny Depp, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Rispoli, Giovanni Ribisi and Amber Heard. So basically Johnny Depp plays a journalist, Paul who grows tired of New York and America so he decides to travel San Juan Puerto Rico (my favorite place btw) and works for The San Juan Star, a failing newspaper in the 1950′s .As soon as he arrives he befriends Rispoli’s character Bob and gets involved with shady expatriates one of which is named Sanderson, Eckhart’s character. He is a struggling novelist trying to find his voice in his writing while at the same time struggles with the expatriates from America who are living there and destroying the island and its people. His character has habit of drinking way to much rum (hence the title) and becomes obsessed with a woman Chenault; Heard’s character. The movie chronicles the humorous situations Depp finds himself in while drinking way to much rum.
I absolutely loved the movie. Now like I said I love Johnny Depp so I am biased but i really did enjoy it. I am a fan of Hunter S. Thompson’s work so I knew I would enjoy this. I have read reviews that many find the movie is fun but lacks focus and is a lot of rambling. I could see how some might think that. I think people who say that miss the point of the movie. It is supposed to lack focus. You are supposed to feel as you are thrown into this drunken adventure and are taking this ride with them. Also the drinking is not the focus of the film so for those who could not get passed it then they completely missed the point. The main point was the decline in the American Dream and what people are willing to do to try and get it. Its about politics, greed and the bad side of human nature. All in all this movie is a lot of fun to watch, it had me laughing many times and is destined to become a cult film classic. If you like Hunter S. Thompson then I recommend seeing it. In my opinion it is one of the better films I’ve seen this year.
Then I cam home and finished my day off with a lovely Happy Herbivore Pumpkin Pie Smoothie. Delicious Pumpkin Pie Smoothie topped with nutmeg and cinnamon
Ending with this picture because I love it.
I love how he looks here <3

An Evening with Buddy Valastro:The Cake Boss

So last night my sister Nikki, my best friend Maritza, and her mommy also named Maritza went to “An Evening with Buddy Valastro:The Cake Boss. We all had such an amazing time. Let me start of by saying you have no idea how happy I was that it was in Staten Island. Nothing ever comes here. Normally we have to go in Manhattan to see any type of show. It was so nice to be able to drive there and home. When we got to our seats we were shocked to realize how close we were. As soon as we sat down we noticed Maritzas (the Bestie) tweet was on the screen with all our names. We had a little freak out moment hehe.

Then we saw that Mauro and Maddalena were seated in our row!. Everyone was crowding around to take pictures with them so obviously we did the same. I was so excited to met them. My sister, Maritza and Maritza all got to meet and take pictures with them. They even signed our book!. My sister also took a picture with Marie. She was the only one.

Ok now about the show. It was so awesome. Buddy was funny. charming, and held the attention of the entire audience. He brought people on stage to decorate cupcakes and we the audience were the judges. We didnt get to go on Stage or meet him :( but a co-workers kid did and I was so excited and happy to see them up there. He also told stories and how he started in the bakery and how he got it to where it is today. His little son Marco closed the show signing dynamite. It was so cute. All in all we had a great time and would so go see another show of his without question. I didnt think it was possible but after seeing him live I love him even more. We got out of the show at 10 so that meant I had to go home :( had school in the morning. As soon as I got home I had to have a muffin he really made me want desert of some kind. I had a Maple Kissed Pumpkin Muffin. The recipe from Happy Herbivore. http://happyherbivore.com/recipe/maple-kissed-sweet-potato-muffins/ They are so delicious, low fat, low calorie and Vegan! Perfect way to end my night. :)

Opening Day!

Today the weather is miserable I had little sleep and I have school projects up the wazoo. All factors that should land me in a bad more; normally it would but not today! No matter how miserable the day starts off it's all ok because It's opening day!! As soon as the first pitch is thrown (Fingers crossed weather holds up) it's officially the start of Yankee baseball! My world will now revolve around the Yankees season. So I apologize now when I start ranting and raving about the yankees lol I'm just overly passionate and they are able to make me scream out of anger one minute and scream out of excitement the next and I wouldn't have it any other way. There may be question marks about my yankees this season but I say that doesn't matter until the season actually starts. So right now all is great and I wont question a thing. I've learned my lesson about saying how good a team is based on the "paper team". when there in action then we can start the questions lol. For now just enjoy opening day and here's to the quest for #28! (which I'm confident will happen).

Baseball playoffs and Football season

OK so its fall and that means two things to me the baseball playoffs and Football season.i know it fits the very typical white american image but what can i say its what i am. i love those two sports and that what inm excited about. of course i like the leaves changing and the feel of fall and holidays like Halloween and thanksgiving but those are down the road and im focused on the beginning of fall. one step at a time. so first we start off with the most important things to me during fall, Baseball and football.

obviously i am very excited for both, i just wish they weren't so close to each other. My baseball team is the New York Yankees. i am obsessed with them and my Football team is the New York Giants who i love a little less then the Yankees I'm not gonna lie. The yanks are my top priority, the thing is I'm so so consumed with the baseball playoffs that i really cant focus my attention on football. any huge sports fan like myself with attest to this, when your team is in the playoffs that all you could think about, you eat and sleep playoffs and we all know the yanks are destined to make the playoffs and i really think they have a good shot at taking it all but im always gonna think that lol. I think the vets are doing real well and helping this team win a championship. Jeter is having a great season and rivera is rivera. Posada is doing pretty well his arm hasn't diminished that much and the rest are coming together. The team is coming together with all 9 guys everyday. from jeter to swisher they are all doing there part.(BTW i love how much he loves being a Yankee, he is really enjoying the game). the yanks are playing amazing baseball how can anyone not bet on them.

anyways with all that going on I'm finding myself having a hard time getting into football season. i too much in baseball mode to get excited. maybe it has something to do with the fact that the i'm unsure of the Giants team that was assembled. I'm worried about manning and how he is going to do this season. after plaxico went and became the stupid man on earth, manning lost everything. he couldn't click with anyone else. im worried that its going to turn out bad. i was really hoping that wining the super bowl wasn't a fluke but now im not sure. i got a taste of victory and i want them to have it again. it really depends on what Manning's going to do. i guess we will find out Sunday. i will keep my fingers cross and my eyes on Manniing, while flipping to the Yankee game of course.
